Local and worldwide crime scrapbook, 1884-1897.

Scrapbook of newspaper clippings on crime and criminals in Detroit, Michigan, the United States, and the world. The stories of two women murderers, Mrs. Walter (Edith) Carew and Marie Barberi are included, as well as clippings on prisons, convicts, dogs, and poetry. A photograph (clipping) of the Columbian Guards, 1893, all young boys, is on the inside front cover. The cover is brown with a design of flowers and leaves. "Scrap book" is on the spine and cover. The contents of the scrapbook are acidic. Mamie Oakman compiled the scrapbook.
